Terrill C. Cox, 63, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Cremation is planned with memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Inurnment Hope Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Terrill was born Tuesday, August 28, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Alonzo Cox, Jr. and Eleanor (Hobbs) Cox-Allen. He lived in Ottawa before moving in 1981 to Topeka. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1970. Survivors include his siblings, Robert H. Cox of Kansas City, Kansas, Raymond K. Cox of Kansas City, Missouri, Christis Allen of Lawrence, and Wanda L. Silvey and husband Leslie of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Terrill worked at Lincoln Elementary in Ottawa, from 1970 to 1981, as a janitor. In 1981, after moving to Topeka, he worked at several locations including, Godfather’s Pizza, Pizza Hut and Wal-Mart, as a waiter and janitor. He was a member of the Bethany Chapel Baptist Church and volunteered at Let’s Help, an organization that assists the homeless. He enjoyed billiards and fishing.
