Teri Lynn (Bishop) Mitchell was born Sunday, March 22, 1964, in Ottawa, Kansas. She was the daughter of Rose (Holzapfel) Laster and Harold Wayne Bishop Sr. Teri lived in Greeley, Kansas; Garnett, Kansas; Ottawa, Kansas; then settled into Welda, Kansas for many years. She also resided in Iola, Kansas; Chanute, Kansas; and ended up living in Westphalia, Kansas for her remaining years.
Teri attended school in Ottawa, Kansas. She did not finish high school, instead she became a homemaker.
Teri had a knack for photography, collecting small figurines, and a sensation for bells. She enjoyed bartending, being a seamstress, and a waitress. She loved camping, making craft books, bowling, tie dying, and most of all motorcycling. She felt her children were her greatest accomplishment and her grandchildren gave her life.
In 1984, Teri was united in marriage with Ricky Mitchell at Ottawa. They later divorced in January 2015 and she never remarried.
She is survived by her daughters Shanna Mitchell (Danny) of Westphalia, Brittany Mitchell (Vincent) of Tulsa, Destiny Mitchell (Ty) of Moran, and a son Dakota Mitchell (Savanna) of Iola, six sisters, Jessica Stottlemire (Kenny) of Rantoul, Sheryl Bishop of Ottawa, Kelli Bishop of Ottawa, Tana Bishop of Richmond, Michelle Jones (Daniel) of Pomona and Tasha Reeves of Kansas City, three brothers, Noel DeCock of Ottawa, Harold Bishop III (Jennifer) of Ottawa, and Michael Bishop of Ottawa, nine grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rose (Holzapfel) Laster; sisters, Vanessa Weatherbee and Kathy Bishop; father, Harold Bishop Sr.; and brother Harold Bishop Jr.
