Teddie was born January 15, 1948, in Vista, Missouri to Opal Laverne Lawler and Raymond Ralph “Ted” Sink. Teddie accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized early in life at Osceola Baptist Church. She met the love of her life, Ed Farnsworth, in college and they were married on April 10, 1971. They would have three children, Trisha, Todd and Tyler.
Teddie was the third of five daughters in their lively home in Osceola, Missouri. As a young girl, her smile and personality, teamed with a feisty streak, were quick to win people over. She attended Osceola schools for all 12 years and graduated from Osceola High School in 1966, where she participated in many sports, clubs and activities.
After high school, Teddie attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, where she met her beloved Ed, and received her degree in 1969. She began a teaching career that took her to Excelsior Springs, Appleton City, Golden City and Licking - all in Missouri. Once married, they lived in Osceola, Lockwood and Butler. While in Butler, Teddie converted to Catholicism and she was a member of various Catholic Churches throughout her life.
Ed and Teddie moved their family to Clinton in December of 1980. Teddie chose to stay at home with her children and could always be counted on to volunteer or be a room mom whenever one was needed at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and School. Teddie also worked at the Bowen House, an upscale boutique just off the square in Clinton. It was here Teddie would display her amazing talent for decorating and design.
In 1989, the family moved to Jefferson City. Teddie was the hospital volunteer coordinator and gift shop manager at the Blue Boutique at Capital Region Medical Center. Teddie was passionate about her role and worked tirelessly to make a huge impact at the hospital and in the community. She was also a member of various clubs and organizations where she made many close friends.
In 2016, Ed and Teddie moved to Overland Park, Kansas to be closer to their children. Teddie enjoyed vacationing with her family, including many RV trips across the country. She and Ed were able to travel to many places throughout their marriage and especially later in life, visiting many destinations in Europe. Ed and Teddie were blessed with a strong, loving marriage and enjoyed spending time together. Teddie was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Wherever she went, Teddie’s vivacious and energetic personality touched many lives. She had quite the wardrobe featuring her go-to black and white, which she often highlighted with bright colors to match her personality. She was a skilled and competitive Canasta, Pitch and Bridge player and loved playing with family and friends. Reading, baking, shopping, gardening, making pottery and volunteering were some of her hobbies, and spending time with her family was her top priority.
Teddie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Ray, and nephew, Jon David.
Teddie is survived by her loving husband, Ed, of the home, daughter, Trisha Farnsworth (Mark) and grandchildren, Jackson, Anna and Ella of Overland Park, Kansas; son, Todd Farnsworth (Tracy) and grandchildren, Kate and Avery of Overland Park, Kansas; son, Tyler Farnsworth (Erin) and grandchildren, Theodore and Lennon of Smithville, Missouri; her sisters, Lindal Gibbens of Osceola, Missouri, Pat Cleveland of Osceola, Kim Burton of Osceola, and her niece, Beth Garrison of Osceola, who was raised as her sister, and many nieces and nephews and their children.
