Steven Hood

Steven L. Hood, age 43, of Gardner, Kansas passed away at Olathe Medical Center on Wednesday January 9, 2013. Steven was born February 22, 1969 in Paola, Kansas to Ray Hood and Linda Henry Mundell. He grew up in the Princeton area and graduated from Central Heights High School in 1988. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served 4 years receiving his honorable discharge in 1993. He was a former welder with the R and B Manufacturing Company in Olathe and worked for a packing company in Gardner as a fork lift operator for a few years. Steven"s hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, and working on cars. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by a son Destry Lee Hood of Chattanooga TN; father Ray Hood of Paola; mother Linda Mundell of Gardner; step-father Wayne Tawney of Osawatomie; brothers Curt Hood of Osawatomie, Brian Tawney of Wellsville, and Aaron Hood of Pensacola, FL; grandmother Juanita Henry of Gardner; and a host of friends.
