Stanley Loris Wiles, 74, of Ottawa, Kansas, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at his home. Celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends immediately following the service. Private interment will take place at Peoria Cemetery, Peoria, Kansas. Stanley was born Wednesday, December 3, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Annabelle (Jones) and Loris Wiles. Since both parents were professional musicians with the Oklahoma Symphony, Stan excelled in music and the clarinet. Stan received his bachelors and law degree from Oklahoma University, Norman, Oklahoma. He established a successful law practice with offices in Kansas City, Missouri and Ottawa, Kansas. He always had an avid interest in politics and social issues. Stan ran for congress in 2000; though not winning, he enjoyed participating in the race. In addition, Stan had a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He loved to travel, invest in stocks, and to garden. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Ottawa. Stan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet of Ottawa; two sons, Frank Wiles and wife Emily of Lawrence, and Taylor and wife Hayley of Louisburg; sister, Ann Redwine of Valparaiso, Florida; three granddaughters, MaKayla, Aubrey and Lavender Wiles; grandson, Frankie Wiles; two nephews, Ben Redwine and wife Leslie of Covington, Louisiana, and Jesse Redwine of Canton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sherri Mance; and niece, Maria Miller of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loris and Annabelle Wiles; brother, Phillip Wiles; and brother-in-law, Tom Redwine. Stan was a devoted husband and an outstanding father and he will be sorely missed by family and friends.
