Shirley Wallace, 60, of Ottawa, Kansas died on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. She was born on Friday, February 27, 1948, in Neosho, Missouri. She was the daughter of Curtis Cleo and Lena (Stark) Tichenor. Shirley was raised in Neosho, Missouri, and lived twenty-one years in Lenexa, Kansas, moving to Lane, Kansas in 1995 and Ottawa in 2000. She graduated from Neosho High School and Crowder College, also in Neosho, with an Associate’s Degree in Art. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ottawa, and Chip Chats National Wood Carvers Association. Shirley worked as office manager for Asplundh Tree Expert Company nineteen years, from 1989 until retirement in February of 2008. On June 22, 1968, Shirley was united in marriage with Ronald Dee Wallace in Weatherford, Texas. He survives of their home. Survivors include: Husband-Ronald D. Wallace of the home Sister-Carolyn Combs of Quenemo, Kan. Brother-Tom Tichenor and his wife, Jeaneth, of Wichita, Kan. Sister-in-law-Carolyn Tichenor Nephews-Five Nieces-One She was preceded in death by: Mother-Lena Magnolia (Stark) Tichenor Father-Curtis Cleo Tichenor Brother-Curtis Tichenor Brother-in-law-Larry Combs IN STATE & VISITATION: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Wallace at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, where the family will meet with friends 7:00 to 8:00 Friday evening. Cremation will follow.
