Sandra Whitehead

Sandra (Eastland) Whitehead, age 61 of Rantoul, KS passed away Sept. 28 at St. Luke"s Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Sandra was born March 17, 1947 in Ft. Scott, Kansas to Francis and Margaret (Walters) Eastland. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1965. She lived in Knob Noster, Missouri for 19 years until 1989 when she moved to the Edgerton, Kansas area., and then moved to Rantoul, Kansas in 2000. Sandra was united in marriage to Ron Whitehead on March 4, 1990 in Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crossword puzzles, country music, cooking and baking, and especially family gatherings. Sandra is preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, and stepmother. Survivors are her husband Ron, of Rantoul; daughters Tracie Russ and husband Michael of Prince George, VA., Rebecca Bolton, of Overland Park, KS, LuAnna Ortiz and husband David of Knob Noster, MO; sons Larry Bolton Jr. and wife Angela of Knob Noster, MO, James Bolton and wife Holly of Indianapolis, IN; brother Allen Eastland and wife Pam Morris of Lawrence, KS; father Francis "Shorty" Eastland and companion Gloria Hicks of Spring Hill, KS; and 7 grandsons, Nicholas Smith, David Russ, Trevor Bolton, Xavier Ortiz, Lane Bolton, Luke Bolton, and Levi Bolton. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:30 am at Heartland Church of Knob Noster, MO. Sandy wished to be cremated and her ashes spread. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Heartland Church of Knob Noster, Mo.
