Ron L. Stiffler, 63, of Pomona, Kansas passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his home with family by his side. Cremation has taken place. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Ron was born July 22, 1956 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Lloyd L. and Luella A. (Rockers) Stiffler. He was a lifelong resident of the Pomona/Williamsburg area. He graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1974 and continued his education at the Flint Hills Technical School in Emporia receiving his certificate in Automotive Technology. On August 18, 1990 Ron was united in marriage to Cheryl Gardner-Totman in Quenemo and were happily married for nearly 30 years. Ron was employed with Hallmark Cards in Osage City for 14 years as a mechanic and worked in the warehouse. He later worked as a carpenter for many years. Ron enjoyed anything and everything the outdoors had to offer. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish, trap and hunt. He acquired a large collection of self-gathered arrowheads, fossils and gems. He never found a puzzle he couldn't solve. He was creative and often built his own tools. He was an extremely hardworking man who loved to tell stories. He enjoyed his family and passing along his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. He attended the Greenwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Cheryl of the home; mother, Luella Stiffler of Ottawa; two children, Abby Johnson and husband Pat of Lyndon, and Michael Totman and wife Kim of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Pam Chanay and husband Charlie of Beaufort, South Carolina; and six grandchildren, Paige Gebhardt, Kahle Gebhardt, Finley Totman, Keeley Totman, Joseph Totman, and Areia Totman. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Stiffler and twin sisters, Suzanne Marie and Rose Ann.
