On Monday, October 9, 2023; close family and friends will meet at the Ramsey farm for a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. and then an open house visitation from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Raine was born in Westerville, Ohio, on February, 12 1985, to Jim Ramsey and Carrie Graffice. He was raised by his father, Jim, and Stepmom Kila in Sunbury. He grew up with a love for the outdoors on 5 open acres. He was always by his dad’s side, from deer camp, to working on motorcycles, riding dirt bikes, fishing, and hunting; to hanging out with his good childhood friends Nate, Tom, Chase, Colton and Luke, his childhood memories were filled with outdoor adventure. He attended high school in Sunbury, Ohio and was on the golf team. He was a hardworking devoted Superintendent for Layne Construction for nearly 20 years.
Raine met the love of his life, Amber, in 2008 when they were set up by mutual friends. They talked every day since that day when they met. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married at a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Ohio in 2014.
They gave birth to their first child, Archer, on August, 29 2014, and moved together as a family to Louisburg, Kansas in 2016. In 2019, their daughter Evelyn was born on October 18, and she has had Raine wrapped around her finger ever since.
As a family, they built a beautiful life of outdoor adventure including a real-life farm filled with a variety of animals, dirt bike tracks, ponds for fishing, and a gathering place for family and friends. Raine was the best dad a kid could ever ask for. He loved spending time with his kids, and they thought the world of him too. He was always teaching them something new. There was nothing he tried that he couldn’t master.
Everyone who knew Raine knew how much he loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, archer, and the best grill master around. He was always behind the scenes cooking up flavor and providing for his friends and family. He loved watching cooking shows and YouTube videos for inspiration. He loved playing with his kids outside and crafting up a new project, from a chicken coop to working on fixing up an old car.
Raine would always make time for those in need. He was a quiet child and a gentle soul. Raine was a painter, mechanic, craftsman, outdoorsman, motor cross rider, music lover. Most importantly Raine was an amazing father, husband, son, and friend.
Raine will greatly be missed by those in his life every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jim Sr. and Alka Ramsey, great-grandparents Lester and Ruth Bradford, and his father-in-law Trae Hardesty.
Raine is survived by his wife Amber, son Archer (9), daughter Evelyn (4), father James (Kila) Ramsey, mother Carrie Graffice, sister Riane Ramsey, mother-in-law Janet Hardesty, grandparents Lowell and Kae Hardesty, Jeff and Connie Bradford, and many other aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
