Paul E. Vaneske, Jr., age 73, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center. Paul was born March 23, 1945 at Omaha, Nebraska. He was the third of five children born to Paul, Sr. and Alice (VanRyckeghem) Vaneske. He graduated from South Omaha, Nebraska high school. Paul and Kathy Bell were united in marriage on December 5, 2000 in Paola, Kansas. They made their home in Osawatomie. Paul served his country with the United States Marines. He served during the Vietnam conflict. He worked for Asplundh Tree Service for 20 plus years. He then went to work at the Osawatomie State Hospital and became the custodial manager working there until he retired after 20 plus years. He was a member of the VFW and Eagles at Paola. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Spending time with family was his favorite pastime that he found very entertaining. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jim Vaneske, a sister Josephine Conway, and a step-brother Bobby Richter. He is survived by his wife Kathy of the home; two sons Paul Alan (Denise) of Renton, Washington and Derek Vaneske of North Fort Myers, Florida; three daughters Amy King of Winder, Georgia, Mary Vaneske of Olathe, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Moffatt of Olathe; one step-son Edward (Betty) Bell of Texas; one step-daughter Samantha Bell of Garnett; his sister Toni Sidzyik of Omaha, NE; his brother Mick Richter of Omaha, NE; 8 grandchildren Dallas, Austin, Jake, Cameron, Dylan, Alexandria, Preston, and Hayden; one great grandchild Elliot; many other relatives and friends.
