Patrick William Kunard, 63, of Garnett, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Anderson County Hospital. Cremation is planned. Family services will be held later. Patrick was born March 23, 1954, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Michael “Mike” and Rosemary Ellen (Lingo) Kunard. He grew up in Edgerton and was a Franklin County resident for 30 years moving in 2012 to Garnett. He graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School with the class of 1972 and continued his education at Pittsburg State University graduating with a 4-year degree in auto mechanics. He completed a program at Saint Joseph, Missouri, in millwright and welding. Patrick was united in marriage to Cindy Brown May 22, 1976, in Lawrence. He is survived by his beloved wife. Other survivors include his two children, Kristina Bischoff and husband Raylee of Williamsburg, and Kyle Ross Kunard and significant other Michelle Nigh of Leaveworth; two brothers, Timothy Ross Kunard and wife Bridgett of Edgerton, and Kelly Kirk Kunard and wife Jonette of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandchildren, Shaon Bischoff of Williamsburg, Monica Bischoff and significant other Colton Egger of Garnett, and Mason Ross Kunard of Paola; great granddaughter, Claire Egger; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Zoeann Kunard. Patrick had various jobs including, Millwright’s Local Union 1529, FMC Corporation in Lawrence, Automatic Systems Incorporated in Kansas City, Missouri, Amarr Garage Group in Lawrence, he built the La Cygne Power Plant, and farmed the family farm. He was a member of the Edgerton Methodist Church, Edgerton JC’s, and was a volunteer fireman for Edgerton and Wellsville. Patrick loved spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He enjoyed anything with a motor and wheels, loved red tractors, being around the farm and fields, loved cows and all animals, and going to mudd run’s.
