Pastor Larry L. Osborne

Pastor Larry L. Osborne, age 78, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away February 21, 2019 at his home. Larry was born December 14, 1940 at Cherokee, Iowa. He was the youngest of five children born to Lester Conrad and Gladys Irene (Derby) Osborne. He graduated from Adams City High School in Colorado. On June 10, 1961 he was united in marriage to Kathryn "Kay" Jean Scantlin. They were high school sweethearts. To this union, two sons were born Larry L., Jr. "L.J." and Lesley Wayne "Les". Larry accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1977. He and Kay attended Bible College in Greeley, Colorado. In 1980, they went into full time ministry at Northside Baptist Church, Northglenn, Colorado. In February of 1990, they moved to Osawatomie where Larry served as pastor of the Victory Baptist Church until he retired in 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay who died in August of 2014, parents, great granddaughter Charlene, two brothers Ronnie and Kenneth, and two sisters Beulah and Donna. Larry is survived by his sons Larry, Jr. (Eileen) of Bennett, Colorado and Lesley of Federal Heights, Colorado; 10 grandchildren Brian (Dana) Cody, Jessica and Sharon Osborne, Samantha and Lacey Powell, C. J., Chad, Cassidy, and Carissa "Caitlyn" Osborne; 5 great grandchildren Kayleigh, Carter, Blake, Bryson, and Cody, Jr.; brother-in-law Wayne Scantlin; and sister-in-law Betty Smith; many other relatives and friends.
