Michael R. "Mike" Finch

Michael R. “Mike” Finch, 65, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, AdventHealth Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 25, 2022, at the mortuary. Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul. Mike was born June 21, 1956, in Ottawa, the son of Alfred and Patsy (Pyle) Finch. He was a lifelong Franklin County resident, attending Ottawa High School. On April 30, 1976, Mike was united in marriage with Virginia Kirkland in Ottawa. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2004. Mike was employed as an arborist with Asplundh and Wright Tree Service clearing lines for over 30 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local 53, Kansas City, Missouri. Mike enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, skiing, and tinkering. His hobby was farming, hauling hay and was an avid coon hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother “Joey” Finch. Survivors include his three sons, Melvin (Sherry) Parrett of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Finch of Osawatomie, Kansas, and Joshua (Morgan) Finch of Ottawa; four siblings, Waunita Dent of Ottawa, Patricia (Tim) Coffman of Summersville, West Virginia, Roy (Nancy) Funk of Rantoul, Kansas, and Robert (Liz) Elder of Bolivar, Missouri; and six grandchildren.
