Mary J. Caylor, 77, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, April 23, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Mary was born May 4, 1940, at Ottawa, the daughter of Frank and Marjorie (Tedrow) Troutman. She was a lifelong resident of Ottawa. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1958. Mary was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Caylor August 13, 1966, at Ottawa. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her two sons, Chad Caylor and wife Sara of Ottawa, and Rodney Caylor and wife Claudia also of Ottawa; sister, Shirley Corbin of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Ava, Amelia, Emma and Fiona Caylor; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Beverly Brockus of Ottawa; niece, Robin Wright and Bill of Ottawa; nephew, Bryan Corbin of Ottawa; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, James Leroy Troutman. Mary was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Mary was an avid reader and it was common for her to purchase 4-5 books a week. She loved animals, crossword and word search puzzles.
