Martin "Marty" Charles Loethen, age 66, of Paola, Kansas, formerly of Topeka, Kansas, died December 9, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House. Marty was born February 26, 1951 at Marceline, Missouri. He was the son of Wayne and Kathleen (Ratliff) Loethen. He graduated from Highland Park High School, Topeka, Kansas. He was married to Beverly Cook on October 30, 1971. They became the parents of three children. Their marriage ended in divorce. Marty worked in commercial and residential construction providing for his family until he retired. Marty enjoyed fishing, hunting, but mostly spending time with his family and grandchildren as well as his church family. He was a member of the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church where he led bible studies and did a lot of other volunteering within the church. He also volunteered with the children’s group, Kingdom Kids. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, brother Michael and twin sister Marcia. He is survived by his three children and their spouses Michelle (Jerry) Logan of Paola, Robert (Kristi) Loethen of Paola, and Joseph (Crystal) Loethen of Topeka; one brother Paul (Desree) Loethen of Shawnee, KS and one sister Claudia Bowhay of Derby, KS; and 7 grandchildren Jayda, Jasper, and Jerzey Logan, Hunter and Brody Loethen, and Noah and Dalton Loethen; many other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to Olathe Hospice House and sent in care of Dengel & Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071.
