Mark A. Ewbank was born Monday, February 2, 1965, in Iola, Kansas. He was the son of Donald Thomas and Mary Alice (Heronema) Ewbank. Mark grew up in Ottawa, Kansas, and also lived in Emporia. In 2008, he moved to Hadar, Nebraska, where he made his home until his death on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the age of fifty-one years. Family will meet with friends 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1983 and continued his education at Flint Hills Tech School. Mark was united in marriage with Penny Houston February 1, 2016, in Pierce, Nebraska. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his six children, AJ Worley and husband Mark of Ottawa, Gary Ewbank of Colorado, Dustin Ewbank of Ottawa, Michelle Garrett of Gardner, Shane Jackson of Lawrence, and Myria Jackson of Lyndon; two brothers, Bruce Ewbank and wife Carmen of Ottawa, and Gary Ewbank of McCune; seven grandchildren, Dominique “Domino” Worley, Jazzamin “JJ” Worley, Tyler Ewbank, Gabe Garrett, Sofia Garrett, Zane Smith, and Silas Villarreal; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents. Mark was employed as a truck driver for 20 years. He was currently working as a driver for White Trucking. He was attending Norfolk Assembly of God in Norfolk, Nebraska. Mark loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a hard worker and enjoyed going to the Ol’ Marais River Run in Ottawa. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mark Ewbank Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
