Maria Susan Birge

Maria Susan Birge, age 92, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at her home. Maria was born to Hildo and Adel Valle on December 24, 1925, in Oilton, Texas. She was united in marriage to George H. Birge on October 30, 1950 at Laredo, Texas. She worked as a secretary at the American Academy of General Practice for many years until she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son George Birge of Paola, KS; sisters Olga Saldivar and Lamar Benavides; brother Robert Valle; grandchildren Anthony Birge and Evelyn Brock; great grandchildren Stephen, Timothy, and Michael Birge; and great-great grandchild Clara Lynn Birge. The family would like to thank all those who have kept in touch with Maria and held her in their prayers. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS.
