Madison Elizabeth Smith

Madison Elizabeth Madi” Smith, age 9, of Pomona, Kansas, died July 1, 2011, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was the daughter of Robert C. Rob and Julie Diane (Conrady) Smith. She was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident. Madi just completed the third grade at Appanoose Elementary School in the West Franklin School District. She was a member of the Pomona Pioneers 4-H Club and attended First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. She is survived by her: Parents - Rob & Julie Smith - Pomona, Kansas; Brother - Duke Smith - Pomona, Kansas; Sister - Rylee Smith - Pomona, Kansas; Maternal Grandmother - Elizabeth Liz Smith - Ottawa, Kansas; Paternal Grandmother - Raylene Quaney and her husband, John - Burlingame, Kansas; Paternal Grandfather - Ed Smith and his wife, Anne - Marion, Arkansas; Paternal Great Grandmother – Dorothy Fitzgerald of Ottawa, Kansas; Uncle - Jason Smith and his wife, Stephanie - Williamsburg, Kansas; Uncle - Travis Smith and his wife, Theresa - Greeley, Kansas; Uncle - Darain Conrady - Olathe, Kansas; Uncle - Randy Conrady - Arizona and numerous - Great Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Madi is preceded in death by her: Maternal Grandfather – Anthony Conrady Paternal Great Grandfather - Raymond Fitzgerald; Paternal Great Grandparents – Hiram and Marie Smith; Maternal Great Grandparents – Veta and Clarence Conrady and Maternal Great Grandparents – Jack and Evelyn Griffiths. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 203 E. 4th St., in Ottawa, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011. IN STATE: Madi will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and at First United Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 11:00 prior to services. CEMETERY: Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin County, Kansas.
