Lori L. Reichard

Lori L. Reichard, 59, of Rantoul, surrounded by loved ones, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Lori was born February 25, 1959, in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Claudia (Provin) Oberheide. She was raised in Block, Kansas, later moving to the Ottawa area, and Rantoul. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Block, then graduated from Paola High School. Lori also took college courses online. Lori was united in marriage to Joel Runnells in 1983. Together they built Running L Ranch. He preceded her in death. Lori later married Duane Reichard April 15, 2000, in Garnett, Kansas. They did a lot of traveling with their beloved dog, Shelby. Survivors include her husband, Duane of Rantoul; three children, Rachel Mersman and husband Brian of Osawatomie, Angela Runnells of Ottawa, and Katy Runnells of Dallas, Texas; father, Leonard Oberheide and Jo Smith of Prescott; mother, Claudia Provin of Rantoul; four grandchildren, Olivia Runnells, Callie Mersman, Austin Mersman, and Abigail Mersman. She was preceded in death by an infant sister. Lori began working in high school at Weir’s Automotive in Paola; H. D. Lee in Ottawa until they closed; and later Gill Studios in Lenexa; and was the owner/operator of Running L Ranch, a longhorn cattle ranch. She was a member of the Charis Kingdom Church in Shawnee. Lori loved to travel, flowers, thrift stores, flea markets, antique stores and animals. She enjoyed working on her ranch with longhorn cattle and mechanically tinkering on things.
