After a third battle with cancer, Lisa Dianne (Morgan) Coleman passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and loved ones.
Services will be held February 3, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary - Paola Chapel. The visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Funeral service starts at 11:30 am. Burial will be at Somerset Cemetery.
Born to Carl and Betty Morgan in Paola, Lisa was described as a bundle of laughter and always had a smile. Growing up she was very involved in school, community activities, and civic groups. As an adult, Lisa loved caring for individuals. Lisa worked in home healthcare as a CNA and could often be found in homes across Miami County. She also was very passionate about her job as a Paraeducator, which she did for eight years with the Paola School District.
Lisa was a fiercely dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; raising four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-child. She was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter.
Lisa was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Paola and volunteered her time there in various capacities. She also was a leader in her children’s activities whether it be 4-H, girl scouts, boy scouts, and so many others.
Hobbies included fishing, gardening, being in nature, reading, and spending any chance she got with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also always loved to get together for lunch with her friends.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond (Esther) Gentry and Charles (Jessie) Morgan; her parents, Carl and Betty Morgan and infant sister Carla Jean Morgan.
Survivors of Lisa are her husband Ronnie Coleman, daughter Angela Van Ness (Chad Cunningham), son Morgan Van Ness (Cassidy), daughter DeeAnna Delp (Brady), son Weston Coleman (Samantha); grandchildren: Gage (Abigail), Curtis, Preston (Haley), Nathan, Alice, Zoey, Lainey, Piper; great-grandchildren: Freya and great-grandchild number two due in May (McMullan).
