Lexie Renée Droddy-Mason was born on Wednesday, December 10, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas. She was the daughter of Carrol and Imogene (Smith) Droddy. A lifelong resident, Lexie made her home in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, until her death on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the age of thirty-nine years. Lexie graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1988. She attended Kansas State University and Ottawa University, earning her Paralegal certification. She was a cake decorator, employed by Country Mart in Ottawa, Hy-Vee in Lawrence, and Baskin-Robbins in Olathe, Kansas. She was a member of First Christian Church of Ottawa and actively helped with Franklin County 4-H Trailblazers. Lexie was a beautiful, warm, loving young lady. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and looked forward to their family gatherings. She was generous with her time as volunteer for 4-H and loved helping the children with their animals and cooking. She was an avid softball and volleyball player. She also enjoyed going shopping. In March of 1990, Lexie was united in marriage with Steve Mason in Ottawa. They were later divorced. Lexie is survived by her parents of Ottawa; daughter, Cathleen Mason of Ottawa; three sons, Grant Mason, Cody Mason, Austen Mason, all of Ottawa; brother, Jim Droddy of Ottawa; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Ottawa. Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, where the family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
