LeRoy Wayne Roecker of Louisburg, Kansas, died August 5, 2012, at home in Johnstown, Colorado. He was born December 5, 1941 in Garnett, Kansas, to Ernest and Jessie (Merscham) Roecker. LeRoy graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1959. He married Sharon Kay Bloomer on November 13, 1961, in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, while serving in the United States Air Force. The couple moved to Louisburg, Kansas in 1967, where they built their family home. After raising their children and retiring the couple then moved to Johnstown, Colorado in 2009. LeRoy loved being with his family and young children. He loved country music, dancing, fishing, camping, whittling canes, and fixing anything that was broken. LeRoy and his wife also enjoyed traveling to Texas during the winter months. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Wendy Sue; father, Ernest H. Roecker; mother, Jessie E. Merscham-Roecker; one sister, Dixie L. Spencer; and one brother, Douglas Roecker. LeRoy is survived by wife, Sharon; son, LeRoy Jr., and wife Nicole of Ottawa, Kansas; daughter, Sharolyn Nigus and husband Zack of Johnstown, Colorado; grandson, Cody Wayne Roecker; and four brothers, Wesley of Chanute, Kansas, Robert of Buena Vista, Colorado, Doyle of Edgerton, Missouri, and Eldon of Baldwin, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. Directions to the cemetery is Highway 59 to Rock Creek Road. Left on Rock Creek to Texas. Right on Texas to Jackson Road. Left on Jackson, cemetery will be on your right.
