Lacey Burke

Lacey (Buehler) Burke, age 39, of Ottawa, Kansas passed from this life to the next on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Lacey, daughter of David Buehler and Marsha (Hunter) Dunn, was born on February 15, 1984, in Ottawa, Kansas. As part of the Ottawa High School class of 2002, Lacey thoroughly enjoyed singing and performing with the school choir. After high school, she attended Emporia State University before beginning her seventeen-year career at Walmart. In recent years she went on to attain her Bachelor’s degree in Biblical counseling at Calvary University and her Master’s degree in Family Ministries at Barclay College.

She was united in marriage to James Burke on April 24, 2010. Their son, Brenden, was the light of her life. Lacey was a very proud mama who raised a wonderful, God-fearing young man. Her proudest accomplishment was wrapped up in raising him.

Lacey’s faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her life. She was a fun-loving friend to all and loved to laugh. Lacey enjoyed playing games and hanging out with “family”, which to Lacey, extended far beyond the bounds of blood relatives. She was kind and caring and will be missed by so many for her love and hugs.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Survivors include her son Brenden James Burke; her parents Marsha (Hunter) Dunn, David and Sharon Buehler; sisters Nina (Luke) Olson and Katelyn Dunn; brothers Gabriel, Manny, and Kaleb Buehler; nephew Hudson Woods; and very special friends Rebecca Wise and family. She also leaves behind an aunt, uncles, cousins, and so many friends.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Ottawa Bible Church, Ottawa, Kansas. Family will greet friends at 1:00 pm prior to services.
