Kristina Marie Smith

Kristina Marie Smith, 47, of Burlington, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 4, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

She was born on Wednesday April 7, 1976, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Wiley and Kate (Peetz) Bogue.

On November 2, 2013, she married Christopher Smith in Waverly, Kansas. Kristina and Christopher made their home in Burlington, Kansas.

Kristina loved traveling with her husband for work. She also enjoyed being home, being out at her momma’s pasture, and riding horses. She had a soft spot for many animals, except for snakes and goats. She mostly loved spending time with her family, children, grandson, and friends. She made friends everywhere and considered them as her family.

Kristina is survived by her loving Husband, Christopher; mother Kate Peetz; brothers Andrew Bogue of Richmond, Kansas and C.W. Peetz (Brandy) of Ottawa, Kansas; sister Brianna Bogue of Kilgore, Texas; her grandmother Jean Hamilton Lowrance; her four children Lane (Jordan) Barr, Georgia Barr, Alexander Smith, Jacquelyn Smith; her grandson Mathew Barr and another grandson, Walker, on the way; her aunts Chris (Buster) Lewis of College Station, Texas and Edie (Jim) Behanna of Pearland, Texas; uncle Jim (Lori) Hamilton of Williamsburg, Kansas; her cousin's Mary (Chris) McBee of Gardner, Kansas, Sarah Thompson of Pearland, Texas, Wyatt Hamilton, Mandy (Terry) Hamilton or Pomona, Kansas and Ruby Hamilton of Williamsburg; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley, Grandfather, Charles Hamilton, and her cousin T.J. Yohe.

Kristina will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
