Joshua Lee Mccord

Joshua Lee McCord was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1988 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Richard, Jr. and Ronda (Weidner) McCord. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa, Kansas, where he made his home until his death on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the age of twenty-three years, six months and twenty-five days. Joshua graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 2007. He worked at Hardee’s Restaurant in Ottawa, Kansas. Josh was an avid skate boarder. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and looking for deer sheds. He is survived by his parents, Richard, Jr. and Ronda McCord of Ottawa, Kansas; brother, Jon McCord of Ottawa, Kansas; sister, Fallon McCord and her boyfriend, Michael McCann of Colorado; paternal grandparents, Richard and Pauline McCord of Neodesha, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Joyce Weidner; uncle, Keith Weidner of Ottawa, Kansas; uncle, Theren Weidner of Ottawa, Kansas; uncle & aunt, Scott Weidner and his wife, Billie Jo of Ottawa, Kansas; aunt, April Green of Kansas; nephew, Michael McCann, Jr. of Colorado, niece, Teariny Horne of Colorado; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Jim Weidner; maternal great-grandparents, Gerald Opal Ackerman; maternal grandma, Diane Keim and paternal great-grandma, Irene Wilkins. VISITATION: Family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Dengel & Son Mortuary SERVICES: Memorial Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
