Joey Stevens

Joey Stevens, age 59, of Louisburg, KS, passed away from a brief illness with her family by her bedside on Monday, January 11, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 14, at Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Joey was born on January 21, 1950, to Wayne and Dean Beech Clem. She was a Cherokee Indian and proud of her heritage. On May 29, 1969, she was united in marriage to Michael G. Stevens in Wichita, KS. Joey was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Joey was preceded in death by her father and grandsons, Mason E. and Michael E. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Michael G. of the home; son, Michael S. and wife, Tina M. of Louisburg; son, Brian J. and wife, Lisa M. of Louisburg; mother, Dean Clem of Kansas City, KS; grandson, Zachary M.; granddaughter, Ashley N.; sisters, Patricia L. Cook of CA, Diane Pursley of CA, and Debbie Swenson of Kansas City, KS; and brothers, Jerry Clem of Augusta, Dan Clem of Colorado Springs, CO, and Ron Clem of TX.
