Joe D. Stinson, 62, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at The University of Kansas Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 18, 2019, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 17, 2019, at the mortuary. Private family inurnment later at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Joe was born September 24, 1956, in Ottawa, the son of Bennie and Jean (Herring) Stinson. He was a lifelong Franklin County resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1975. Joe was united in marriage to Brenda Ferguson August 11, 1984, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include children, Brooke Stinson of Ottawa and Emilee Brown and husband Josh of Cedar Vale; sisters, Karen Martinez and husband Tom of Princeton and Lois Livingood and husband Jerry of Livermore, Colorado; brother-in-law, Jeff Casten and wife Merrilyn of Quenemo; three grandchildren, Ella Stinson, Preslee Brown and Beck Brown; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Jean Stinson; brother David Stinson; sister, Joyce Casten; and father-in-law, Ralph Ferguson. Joe was a butcher/meat cutter with Stinson Meat Processing, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the KS Meat Processors serving as vice president and president; KS Livestock Association; and Rural Water #2 Board of Directors. Joe enjoyed trail rides, hunting, fishing, grandkids and playing the harmonica. The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County 4-H Development Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
