Private burial will be at the Louisburg Cemetery. Joanne was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1936, in Kansas City, KS. She was the daughter of Harley Emmett and Margaret (Bookhout) Appleton. Joanne was married to Carl H. Enquist on July 18th, 1956, and from this union they had four children: Christopher, Catherine, Bridget, and Carl Bradford. Mom loved their farm just south of Louisburg - she was there for nearly 50 years! She raised chickens, and ducks, along with several horses, dogs, and cats. She was an avid reader and loved to garden - these activities were so relaxing to her! Mom was a volunteer at the Shawnee Community Center - she loved helping others. Her relationship with her sister, June, was so special to her and they loved talking whenever they could. She liked playing the piano - she was so happy when Brody would come out and play for her! Mom and Dad used to get in a little boat and float around their pond from time to time. Dad also built her a little bridge across the lower pond that she loved. Mom loved to watch Eric and the kids when they came out to fish. She loved watching the Chiefs (Tyreek Hill was her favorite player), and also loved watching the St Louis Cardinals (something she had in common with Katie's husband, Jeff and great-grandson, Knox). She was such a great Mom! She had her hands full with all of us, but she was always there for us. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids; they brought her so much joy! Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Carl, daughter Bridget Enquist, her parents, a nephew, Brian Branham and her brother Jerry Appleton, and her two favorite dogs, Gunner and Seba. She is survived by two sons; Chris and Brad Enquist, daughter Cathy (Mike Cahill) Pemberton, two grandchildren; Eric Pemberton and Katie (Jeff) Harris, five great grandchildren; Kaden Oehlert, Brody and Everly Pemberton, Knox and Ella Harris, sister June Branham, a sister-in-law, Debi Appleton, two stepdaughters, Markie Crabtree & Ginny Enquist and several nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Shawnee Community Services, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary PO Box 669, Louisburg, KS 66053.
