Joanne A. Scribner, 81, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Olathe Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at First Christian Church. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Joanne was born Wednesday, May 2, 1934, in Wellsville, Kansas, the daughter of Herb and Darlyne (Ritter) Wright. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident, including Wellsville and Ottawa. Joanne was united in marriage to William Baldwin in 1951. He preceded her in death in 1959. She married Loyd “Scrib” Scribner in 1963. They were later divorced. Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Stauffer of Parsons, Becci Young of Wichita, and Judy Doehling of Overland Park; two siblings, Carolee Rutter of Ottawa and Jim Wright and wife Barbara of Wellsville; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen Scribner; son, Billy Scribner; and brother, Jerry Lee Wright. Joanne was not only a lifelong homemaker she also worked 18 years for Avon. She was a member of the First Christian Church and participated in the Disciples Women Fellowship. She was also a board member for the Rock Creek Cemetery in Wellsville.
