Joan Elizabeth Gorges

Joan Elizabeth Gorges, age 78, of Hillsdale, Kansas passed away May 17, 2015. Joan was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 26, 1936, the third of four children to Harry and Loraine Schell Brooks. Joan was an avid Paola Panther fan. She adored the Panther Nation and did not miss a football game for over 25 years. She took pride in anonymously making the football team homemade cinnamon rolls and the cheerleaders brownies on the last home game of every season. She was a former President of the Roeland Park PTA, and a Cub Scout Leader. Joan was a vital part in the upbringing of her grandchildren. Joan married Charlie on August 4, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2013. Also preceded in death are her parents and her brother Harry. She is survived by her son Charles Edward "Ed" Gorges, Jr.; four grandchildren Ashleigh, Camden, Mason and Cooper; brother Harold (Kay) Brooks; and sister Laverne Thien.
