James "Jim" Lawrence Seyler

James L. Seyler, 79, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at Advent Health, Ottawa, Kansas.

Cremation is planned and no services will be held.

Jim was born Monday, December 27, 1943, at Le Loup, Kansas, the son of Samuel Arthur and Abbie Marie (Gilroy) Seyler.

He was a lifelong Franklin County resident.

Jim graduated from Le Loup Grade School and from Wellsville High School.

On July 16, 1984, Jim was united in marriage with Nancy (Hamby) at Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of their home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Abbie Seyler and sister, Joan Runnels.

Survivors include his children, Barb Kendall, Terri Mongold, Mark Moore and Robin Burgoon, all of Ottawa and Jackie Thomas, James Evans, Jeff Evans, Julie Evans and Jason Seyler, all of Oklahoma; siblings, Sam Seyler of Arkansas, Evelyn Matthews, Lucky Seyler and Rita Everson, all of Ottawa. Dale Seyler of Texas, Janie Schwartz and Debbie Schukaw, both of Oregon, many grandchildren; an aunt and several cousins.

Jim enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
