James A. Romine

James A. Romine, age 69. Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lawrence, KS on October, 16 2023.

He was born on October 24, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois to John and Phyllis Jones Romine. He was the first of six children. They moved to Paola, KS in 1969. He graduated from Paola High School in 1971 and attended Johnson County Community College. James was a maintenance facilitator at the Kansas School for the Deaf for 27 years before retiring in October of 2023.

James’ hobbies were quilting, hat making, and antique collecting. He enjoyed having pet lizards and parrots and practicing homeopathic health.

He was preceded in death by his father John, sister Andrea, brother Guy Romine, his wife Donna, and wife Robin Hastert.

Surviving James is his mother Phyllis, son George A. Romine, daughter, Amelia Romine, sisters Beth Conner, Carrie Howell, and Gwen Romine. As well as five grandchildren.

Services will be planned for a later date.
