Jackie’s life began on September 26, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and friend. Jackie was a 1985 graduate of Center High School and attended Orlando College specializing in Court Reporting. She spent most her childhood along side her two younger sisters, Kathleen and Jennifer, on the shores of Long Beach Island, New Jersey or lakeside of Lake Lotawana, Missouri.

She spent much of her adult life as a Legal Secretary at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. Jackie had an incredible attention to detail and organization; being a Legal secretary came naturally to her. Jackie never wavered from her Faith in the Lord, even during the most trying times in life. She had a generous heart, always thoughtful in sending cards for every occasion and her Christmas baked goods to everyone, including the Post Man. She had a beautiful taste in style, always dressed in the most gorgeous dresses and jewelry. She enjoyed time with friends and family, dancing, NHRA, motherhood, listening to live music, and a good crime show. Family was the cornerstone of her life. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending quality time with her three grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Jackie.”

She is survived by her daughter Katryna (Trent) Harrison and grandchildren James, Samuel, and Adalyn Harrison of Louisburg, sister Kathleen Wedel (Lynn) of Paola, sister Jennifer Verhagen (Bas) of Englewood, mother Margaret Rutherford of Oak Grove, father Larry Watson (Sharon) of Overland Park, stepbrothers Michael Hunter Jr (Julie), Tom Hunter (Aimee), stepsister Allison Johnson (Jimbo), and much loved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jackie passed peacefully in Paola, KS under the loving care of VNA Hospice and surrounded by her family on Monday, May 13, 2024. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents James and Margaret O’Connor, Grandparents Ralph and Margaret Watson, and step-father James Rutherford.

A funeral mass for Jackie will be held Thursday, May 23 2024 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church in Paola, KS. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery Paola.
