Howard Lee Jacob, 67, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Family will greet friends from 2:00-4:00 pm, Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Howard was born Friday, November 9, 1956, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of William Howard and Claudia Marie (Lewis) Jacob.
He lived in Hartford and Emporia, Kanas before moving to Ottawa in the late 1990s.
Howard graduated from Hartford High School with the class of 1975 and attended Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas for two years.
He was united in marriage on November 6, 2009, in Ottawa, Kansas to Kathy D. Houghton. She survives of the home.
Howard was employed as a pipefitter for over twenty years with Construction Design Incorporated in Lenexa, Kansas before retiring on March 31, 2022.
He was a member of the Ottawa Lodge 803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Pipefitters Local 533, Kansas City, Missouri.
Howard enjoyed golf, KU basketball, KU sports, and fashioning metal, but he especially loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Claudia, and sister Colleen Jacob Morrow.
Along with his wife Kathy, survivors include brother Harold Jacob (Linda) of Dallastown, Pennsylvania; sister Velma Wilson Davis (Michael) of Wichita, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Ottawa Lodge 803 BPOE c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
