Harvey Ursal Howard age 81, of Louisburg, KS, passed away June 15, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center of respiratory failure. He was born July 18, 1930 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Ursal and Dorothy Coffey Howard. He was raised in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and at the age of 16 he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as a Seabee on the island of Guam as a driver for the Governor and other dignitaries'. Then went on to operate heavy equipment in Adak, Alaska until being honorable discharged in June 1950. He was a master mechanic for Coffee Time Inc. for over 25 years and later for Prophet Vending Co. He was a long time member of the American Legion and enjoyed dirt track racing. He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Howard, daughter, Gwen Yeager, and brother, RV Coffey. He is survived by sons Harvey Howard Jr of KC, MO and Robert Howard of Louisburg, KS and daughters, Gaylen Baker of Shawnee, KS; Rhonda Kerr and husband Thomas of Louisburg, KS and Janet Hardesty of LaCygne, KS. He has 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Wesley Eugene Howard of KC, KS and close family friend Cindy Laliberte. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Legion Post 250. Louisburg, KS.
