Gladys Lucille Lantis

Gladys Lucille Lantis was born on Wednesday, October 31, 1923, in Franklin County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Harbour and Eula (McCurdy) McDaniel. Lucille made her home in Franklin County until her death on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the age of eighty-six years. Lucille was a loving wife and mother. She was very proud of her family and greatly enjoyed their family gatherings. Pomona United Methodist Church was her church home. Gardening and tole painting were two hobbies she greatly enjoyed, and she was a member of the Pomona Chapter #305, Order of Eastern Star. On January 17, 1941 Lucille was united in marriage with Charles H. Lantis at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1983. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Harbour and Eula McDaniel; two sisters, Bonnie Vickhoven and Eileen Bain and a brother, Rex McDaniel. Lucille is survived by two sons, Stanley D. Lantis of Pomona, Kansas, Gale D. Lantis and his wife, Willa, of Baldwin City, Kansas; a sister, Phyllis Randel of Auburn, Kansas; three granddaughters, Michelle Harms and her husband, Richard, of Pomona, Kansas, Nicole Carey and her husband, Bret, of Pomona, Kansas and Lori Markley and her husband, Kevin, of Baldwin City, Kansas; two grandsons, Jeff Lantis of Quenemo, Brian Lantis and his wife, Carey, of Baldwin City, Kansas and eight great grandchildren. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010. IN STATE: Mrs. Lantis will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9 a.m. Monday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8 Monday evening.
