Franklin J. “Frank” Curran, 79, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 4, 2015, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. Frank was born Tuesday, June 2, 1936, in Mound City, Kansas, the son of Gregg Mitchell and Orpha Hazel (Murrow) Curran. He lived in the Linn County area when young moving to Princeton where he lived 30 years. In 2002, Frank moved to Ottawa where he made his home until his death. He graduated from Blue Mound High School with the class of 1954 and continued his education at Fort Scott Community College where he studied accounting. Frank served in the United States Army stationed at Fort Riley in Junction City, Kansas. Frank was united in marriage with Judy Almeda (Welton) April 15, 1970, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughter, Marva Bever and husband Tim of Newton; brother, Lyman Dale “L.D.” Curran and wife Christine of Altamont, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Eric Fair, Amanda Fair, Rebecca Bever, Justin Husted, Alisha Husted, Shaun Husted, and Nicole Husted; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregg and Orpha Curran; daughter, Marie Husted; and brother, James Darryl “Jim” Curran. He worked as a salesman for Guidon Toppers in Richmond where he was recognized as salesman of the year for five consecutive years as well as numerous other awards. He also worked as a truck driver for CFI Trucking in Joplin, Missouri, retiring in 1998. Frank was a hard worker dedicated to providing for his family. He enjoyed playing cards, bridge, and drinking coffee with the guys. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Lung Association c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
