Frances Fern Gish

Frances Fern Gish, 90, Ottawa, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Aldersgate Nursing Home, Topeka. She was born Dec. 4, 1916, at Bazine to Frank and Rose (Cole) Meyers. Frances grew up and lived in Bazine, Kansas until moving to Ottawa in 1963. She graduated from Bazine High School with the class of 1934 and attended Ft. Hays College. Frances was a homemaker. She taught second grade eight years from 1946 until 1954 at Bazine Grade School, Bazine, Kansas. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church and the Christian Service church circle, DAR, and was Past Matron of Union Chapter #15, Order of the Eastern Star, all of Ottawa. On November 5, 1936, Frances was united in marriage with Oscar Gish at Bazine, Kansas. He preceded her in death April 4, 1995. SERVICE: A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Gish after 9:00 AM Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary until service hour, where the family will meet with friends at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to processing to the service.
