Frances Elizabeth Keefer, age 85, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, died Saturday, February 18, 2012. She was born on Thursday, July 29, 1926 in Rantoul, Kansas, the daughter of Roy O. and Ida Mae (Morgan) Taylor. She grew up in Wellsville, Kansas, moved to Ottawa and following her marriage, lived all over the world while her husband served in the military and lived in Overland Park, Kansas since 1965. Frances graduated from Wellsville High School with the class of 1944. She was a homemaker and worked for a while as a receptionist at San Rafael General Hospital in San Rafael, California. On Monday, December 24, 1945, Frances was united in marriage with Loyd L. Keefer, Sr. at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2006. She is survived by her: Son - Loyd L. Keefer, Jr. and his wife, Barbara S. of Edgerton, Kansas; Son - Randy Keefer and his wife, Tamera A. of Lenexa, Kansas; Sister - Ala Mae Taylor of Iola, Kansas; Granddaughter – Natosha Keefer; Granddaughter – Courtney Williamson; Granddaughter – Angela Watson; Grandson – Nick Keefer; Grandson – Shane Teter; Grandson – Bryan Keefer; Great Grandson – Gavin Williamson; Great Grandson – Breck Watson; Great Granddaughter – Chloe Williamson; Great Grandson – Luke Keefer and Great Granddaughter – Olivia Keefer. She was preceded in death by her: Husband – Loyd L. Keefer, Sr.; Parents – Roy O. and Ida Taylor; Daughter - Terrie Teter; Brother – Roy O. Taylor, Jr.; Brother – Oliver Taylor and Sister - Kathryn Keefer. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. IN STATE: Mrs. Keefer will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday to service hour, where the family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service. CEMETERY: Peoria Cemetery. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Franklin County Cancer Foundation c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
