Floyd Stalnaker

Floyd Duane Stalnaker age 83 of Paola Passed away Sunday Sept 14 at the Miami County Hospital in Paola.services Thursday 10:00 AM with visitation 9 to 10 AM Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel. Floyd was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Fullerton Nebraska to Arthur and Katherine Johnson Stalnaker. He attended school in Fullerton and after graduation enter the United States Navy in 1943 where he was a signalman on Navy ships and later stationed in Shanghai until being honorable discharged in 1946. On Sept. 8, 1949 he was united in marriage to Zola Marie Kinney in Fullerton Nebraska. He worked for the Rural Electric Assoc. out of Columbus, Nebraska for many years. In 1969 they moved to California where Floyd worked for the Jorgansen Steel Company as a warehouse clerk until retiring in 1987. In 1991 they decided to move back to the Midwest and made their home in Paola. He was a member of the Lighhouse Presbyterian Church and the Nebraska American Legion. Floyd"s hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping, working in his garden, loved woodworking and he raised some calves, he enjoyed working with his hands. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter Nancy Cardenes. Survivors are his wife Zola of the home, son Gary and wife Kathryn Stalnaker of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, son Randy Stalnaker of Lincoln Nebraska, daughter, Darlene McMullin and husband Doug of Wellsville, 5 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
