Everett Edward Hunter

Everett Edward Hunter, age 74, of Pomona, Kansas., died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at his residence in Pomona Everett moved with his family when he was twelve years old to San Diego, California, leaving there when he entered the military. He moved to Pomona, Kansas in 1976. He attended San Diego schools. Mr. Hunter worked twenty-seven years as a civilian employee at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada, in aircraft maintenance and farmed after his return to rural Pomona. Everett served in the United States Air force in 1949 until 1954, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in Europe with the 85th Bomb Squad, and was a mechanic during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal with clasp. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post # 1650 in Topeka, Kansas. In September of 1964, Everett was united in marriage with Janice A. Shipley at Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death in 1975. He is survived by his One Daughter, Daughter-Marsha Beuhler of Ottawa, Kan. Two Sons, Son-Edward Hunter of Pomona, Kan. Son-Edward Hunter Two Sisters, Sister-Mary Garner of Cabot Park, Ark. Sister-Mildred Manley of Elk Horn, Wis. One Brother, Brother-Donald M. Hunter of Robert Park, Calif. He was preceded in Death by: Wife-Janice A. Hunter Father-John Martin Hunter Mother-Ethel Elizabeth Hunter Brother-Donald M. Hunter Brother-Charles C. Hunter SERVICES: Cremation is planned, with a private inurnment to be held.
