Evelyn M. Bell, age 87, of rural Paola (Hillsdale Community), Kansas passed away April 17, 2022 at Olathe Health Hospice House. Evelyn was born May 20, 1934 in Louisburg, Kansas to William and Iona Kaufman. Evelyn was united in marriage to Jerold Bell on July 16, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. To this union, six children were born. They made their home in the Hillsdale area of Miami County, Kansas. She was a kind and generous person who put others before herself. Besides being a hard working farmer’s wife, she was a mom of six, a friend to many and a caregiver to those in need. She loved spending time with family and friends whether it was to celebrate birthdays or holidays, having an impromptu get together, or just dropping by for 4 o’clock coffee. Another thing she enjoyed was rolling the dice with the “Bunco Girls”. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerold; parents William and Iona Kaufman; her siblings: brothers Bill, James, John, Kenny, Bernard, Joseph, Roy and Paul, and sister Colleen. She is survived by her children Vickie Jones (Gale) of Overland Park, Randy Bell (Cathy) of Paola, Tony Bell (Tammy) of rural Osawatomie, Linda Hedding of Olathe, Debbie Osborn of Spring Hill, and Jim Bell of Paola; 11 grandchildren Brandon Jones (Melissa), Rachael Stoneking (Lucas), Christopher Bell (Shantel), Crystal Russell (Jacob), Jennifer McCord (Nick), Jeremy Bell (Kristi), Jessica Pickens (Tommy), Ryan Hedding, Sean Hedding, Nicholas Shoemaker, and Tara Stifter (Freddie); 22 great grandchildren Elliotte and Marlo Jones; Easton, Rian and Frankie Stoneking; Ashlyn and Avery Bell; Owen, Eva, and Ivan Russell; Carter, Tanner, and Harper McCord; Logan, Samuel, Grant, and Alex Bell; Mason and Alexis Shoemaker; Parker Stifter; Lily and baby Pickens; as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. at Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071. Memorials are to Olathe Health Hospice House or American Heart Association. Family and friends are encouraged to post their memories and condolences on Evelyn's tribute wall.
