Evaline M. Hazen Pritchard

Evaline M. Hazen Pritchard, 92, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Evaline was born Thursday, April 24, 1924, in Athelstan, Iowa, the daughter of Basil Warren and Mildred Fern (Hanna) Campbell. She was a near lifelong resident of Ottawa, graduating from Ottawa High School with the class of 1942. Evaline was united in marriage with William Junior Hazen December 20, 1942, at Paola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1997. On October 28, 2005, she was united in marriage with James Pritchard. He survives of their home. Other survivors include her two sons, Ronald Hazen (Diane) of Lawrence, and Ryan Hazen (Ruth) of Fishers, Indiana; brother, Frank Campbell of Gardner; two sisters, Rose Laird of Sun, Louisiana, and Ethelyn Barrows of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jeff Hazen (Jama) of Ottawa, Amy Albertson (Tim) of Lawrence, William Hazen of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Matthew Hazen of Fishers, Indiana; great grandchild, Macie Albertson of Lawrence. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Mildred Campbell; brother, Robert Campbell; and sister, Naomi Williams. Evaline worked 31 years as a medical assistant for Dr. Richard Roberts in Ottawa, and followed his practice to Lawrence. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Ottawa.
