Elvin "Leroy" Krafft

Leroy Krafft was born on Wednesday, July 15, 1936 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. He was the son of Alvin and Thelma (Randolph) Krafft. Leroy was a near lifelong resident of Goodland, Kansas, moving to Wellsville, Kansas in April of 2012, where he made his home until his death on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the age of seventy-five years. He graduated from Goodland High School with the class of 1955 and attended a mechanic school in Kansas City. Leroy was a teacher at Northwest Technical College for ten years in the automotive department. Following his teaching career, Leroy was a farmer in the Goodland, Kansas area, retiring in 2003. He was a lifelong member of the Elks in Goodland, Kansas. Leroy was an avid hunter. He liked having a house full of friends for opening weekend of pheasant season. He also liked snowmobiling, playing cards, golfing, and restoring antique vehicles in his later years. Leroy enjoyed his time teaching at Northwest Technical College and farming for Don Schwendener. Following his retirement, he golfed during the week and on the weekends took his 56' Chevy to various car shows. He is survived by three daughters, Lori Krafft of Ottawa, Kansas, Kelli Edell and her husband, David, of Houston, Texas, Nicol Bruner and her husband, Randy, of Hesston, Kansas; two grandchildren, Bryce and Brayden Bruner of Hesston, Kansas; three nephews, Brian Walt, Kevin Walt and Alvin Walt of California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Thelma Krafft and a sister Donna WaltSERVICES: Inurnment Services will be held at Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012.
