Eloise M. Milton, 88, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Richmond Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 7, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, March 6, 2016, at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Eloise was born Wednesday, July 20, 1927, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Bessie (Bilbrey) Larkin. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident. She attended Ottawa High School with the class of 1945 and graduated from Capital Beauty School in Omaha, Nebraska. Eloise was united in marriage with William Hughes in 1949, in Ottawa. They were later divorced. She married Floyd Milton in 1961, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry Larkin; sister, Arietta Moyer; and grandson, Michael Milton. Survivors include her three children, Kathy Hughes and wife Beth of Guilford, Connecticut, Pauline Ferguson and husband Rick of Williamsburg and Ron Hughes and wife Susan of Ottawa,; two stepsons, Ron Milton and wife Barb of Ottawa, and Rick Milton and wife Licia of Independence, Missouri; brother, Richard Larkin and wife Pat of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Scott Hughes and wife Raychel, Tracy Mitsdarfer and husband John, Dakota Ferguson, Matthew Milton, Mary Elizabeth Milton, and John Milton; and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Ansley, Blake, and Gavin Hughes, and Bryce, Jenna, and Claire Mitsdarfer. Eloise was employed with several local beauty salons, working fifty-five years in the industry. Her last place of employment was with Rainbow Beauty Bar, retiring 2001. She was baptized in the Christian church, was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5901 Auxiliary, and was a former member of the Aerie Lodge 2700 Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of Ottawa.
