Dorothy V. Todd, age 101, of Louisburg, KS, passed away January 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. She was born September 21, 1912 at Maitland, MO, the daughter of Eldon and Bertha (Kimbar) Patterson. On Nov. 22, 1936 she was united in marriage to Newell R. Todd at Troy, KS. Dorothy graduated from Maitland High School in 1930 and Casters Beauty School Academy in 1931. She opened Todd Beauty Shop at her home at 104 Rogers Road in Louisburg from 1947 to 1962. She was a dedicated member of the Louisburg United Methodist Church. "Ms. Dorothy" was known by many children in the church for her generous holiday gifts that she had for each of them. She was an avid KU Jayhawk fan and attended her first "Jayhawk Men"s Basketball Game" at Allen Field House at the young age of 99 with three of her grandsons. She enjoyed playing Bridge weekly for many years with a group of ladies that was very dear to her. Dorothy was blessed in this life to be able to stay in her own home until her passing with the loving and watchful eye of her grandson, Randy and his family that lived next door. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 73 years, Newell R. Todd, a brother, E.D. Patterson, Jr., and one sister, Doris Bartram. Survivors include two sons, Larry G. Todd (Roylene), Grove, OK; and Terry J. Todd (Nancy) Aurora, Colorado; four grandsons, Mike Todd, Randy Todd, Geoff Todd and Matt Todd; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two nieces, Karen Wikholm, Greeley, CO and Sharon Noel, Casper, Wyoming; and many friends. The family suggests contributions to the Louisburg United Methodist Church. Louisburg United Methodist Church 249 N.
