Donna Behlau

Donna Behlau, 85, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her house surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.

Family will greet friends from 5:30-7:30 pm, Monday, January 8, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Donna was born Saturday, July 2, 1938, in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Christopher and Edith (Olson) Hastert.

She lived most of her life in Ottawa, living here from the early 1960s to 1980s before moving to Kansas City, Kansas where she resided before returning to Ottawa in 1993.

Donna was united in marriage on September 3, 1983, in Kansas City, Kansas to Karl Behlau. He survives of the home.

She was employed as a daycare provider in Kansas City and with King Radio in Ottawa as a supervisor for twenty years before retiring in the 1970s.

Donna loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, reading, and decorating.

She was preceded in death by her parents Christopher and Edith; son Jay Weien; and brother Robert Hastert.

Along with her husband Karl, survivors include three sons Doug Huffman (Lisa) of Osawatomie, Kansas; Dennis Huffman (Lisa) of Ottawa, Kansas; and Jeff Weien (Amy) also of Ottawa; two brothers Dale Hastert and Roger Hastert both of Garnett, Kansas; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
