Dola Elaine Chambers

Dola Elaine Chambers, age 83, of Richmond, Kansas, formerly of Ottawa, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on Sunday, May 6, 1928, in Tescott, Kansas, the daughter of Byron R. and Blanch H. (Pierce) Strait. Dola and her husband lived in Washington County, Kansas for many years. Following his death in 1993, she moved into the city of Washington. In the mid 1990’s, she moved to Ottawa, and the past five years, has lived in Richmond. Dola graduated from Tescott High School with the class of 1946. She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. Dola was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. On Saturday, February 3, 1951, Dola was united in marriage with Harold William Chambers in Tescott, Kansas. He preceded her in death January 12, 1993. She is survived by her: Daughter – Sandra E. “Sandy” Silvey and her husband, Reggie, of Ottawa, Kansas Granddaughter – Michelle Miller and her husband, Robert, of Garnett, Kansas Granddaughter – Julie Rockers and her husband, Brian, of Garnett, Kansas Great-Grandchild – Jessica Great-Grandchild – Alissa Great-Grandchild – Brayden Great-Grandchild – Bailee Great-Grandchild – RyeLee She is preceded in death by her: Parents – Byron R. and Blanch E. Strait Sister – Lois Deckert Sister – Dixie Lane Brother – Richard Strait SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa. CEMETERY: Inurnment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Franklin Cemetery near Tescott, Kansas.
