Dianne Lee Hunter, 89, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Cremation is planned with a graveside service to be held later at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Dianne was born February 12, 1933, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Michael J. and Anne M. (Sterbens) Fleissner. She lived in Independence, Missouri for several years before moving to Livermore, Colorado, where she lived from 1998 to 2017. Dianne moved to Ottawa in 2017, where she made her home until her death. She attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas, later earning her GED and later attended nursing school in Kansas City. On May 28, 1994, Dianne was united in marriage to Ronald “Gene” Hunter in Ottawa. They later divorced. Dianne was employed as a nurse with Dr. Robert Gollier and later Dr. Bud Gollier from the mid-1960’s to early 1970’s. For many years she was employed at Statland Clinic in Kansas City, Kansas. She loved being with her family and grandchildren, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed living in Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Mitchell, and daughter Dianne “Candy” Mitchell. Survivors include her son Victor (Sara) Mitchell of Ottawa; stepson Terry (Diane) Mitchell of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Mitchell of Ottawa, Melissa (Ryan) Henningsen also of Ottawa, Michael (Jennifer) Mitchell of Lawrence, Kerry (Brian) Hernandez of Kansas City, and Tara Mitchell also of Kansas City; twelve great grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Remmington, Kaylee, William, Henry, Cody, Jared, Kate, Kierstyn, Kenzie, and Aiden; and partner Larry Vandiver of deceased son Michael Mitchell. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Tennessee c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
