Barbara Diane Schmidt Barbara, better known as Diane Schmidt, 65, of Paola, Ks, passed away on July 21, 2008 at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Services will be on Thursday, July 24 at 1 pm at the Cross Point Assembly of God of Paola, Ks. Inurnment will be Friday July 25, at 1pm at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS. Diane was born on March 7, 1943 in Wichita, KS to Leslie and Lola (Pingery) Wineinger. She married Jerry Schmidt on August 16, 1975 in Arkansas City, KS. They lived in Lenexa and Emporia before moving to Paola in 1992. Together they raised four children. Diane was very family oriented and enjoyed family activities. She enjoyed her friends and their coffee outings. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, traveling and bird watching. Most importantly Diane enjoyed her grandchildren"s activities. Preceding Diane are her parents. Surviving Diane is her husband of 33 years, Jerry. Her four children Kim Schmidt, Tom and wife Cindy, Allen and wife Julie and Lynette and husband Nathan Hjulberg. 13 grandchildren and one sister, Betty Vickers.
